2007

 Dear Shenango Valley Resident:

Each year the Shenango Valley Initiative seeks your support to continue its

work with community social justice issues.

SVI does not have any local funding support, except from the annual program

advertising, and donors.  The annual fund raising program is to insure the

ongoing work of the organization. Please consider a contribution to SVI.

Many of you have contributed generously in past years, and we thank you

for your continued help with a tax-deductible contribution.

The Shenango Valley Initiative, a faith based organization, is rooted in the

tradition of faith and grassroots democracy to address social justice in the

community, going beyond the social service ‘safety net.’ issues.

During the past twelve years SVI has brought hundreds of Shenango Valley

residents together to bring attention to the needs of the community.

This year we hope to focus attention to a more cost effective, treatment of

non-violent drug offenders, lowering property taxes through equity funding

for education and continuing the work of affordable housing and neighborhood

blight, and youth leadership training.  We feel the entrances to the county and

Shenango Valley need improved to bring people to want to invest and live here,

and to bring about better jobs.

Please review the vision, mission and goal on this web site. Your Community Issues

 and       Vision and Goals

We invite you to join us at SVI’s events as you see them advertised to the public,

or get your church involved.

Thank you for reading this letter and giving serious consideration to SVI and a

better community and community policies.

Sincerely,

 Rev. Barbara McCrae
